A Talk by Rick Henderson , Rian Watt , Lisa Naylor and Penny Hobman
About this Talk
In September 2022 the government set out their plans to address rough sleeping, publishing their cross-government strategy - Ending rough sleeping for good. This session we will here from those working to that mission in the UK and internationally.
Penny Hobman will share the Governments learning and aims for ending rough sleeping. We will hear about the progress being made on the Rough Sleeping Strategy at a national and local level across the country and what the government will be focusing their attention on in the coming year to further achieve their goal.
Rian Watts will then showcase Community Solutions' Built for Zero campaign - a national movement of communities in the US working to achieve an end to homelessness that lasts and leaves no one behind. Since launching eight years ago, Built for Zero has worked with 14 communities in the United States who have reached functional zero homelessness for either veterans or people experiencing chronic homelessness. Following funding, they are now working to the goal of getting 75 US communities at functional zero by 2026.
Community Solutions are supporting the development of similar campaigns in Canada, Australia, and now the United Kingdom and Lisa Naylor will talk about Crisis' work with them to implement this in the UK.
