Providing accommodation is the first step to ending rough sleeping, but without additional support this may not be a permanent solution.
In this session we will here about:
The REACH team in Scarborough and Whitby. A multidisciplinary, multi-agency partnership team consisting of Housing, Mental Health, holistic support and domestic violence colleagues and works in connection with key partners offering a housing first approach to those who are homeless with complex needs. The team will talk about developing cross sector relationships, their funding structure, and supporting the mental health needs of their clients.
L&Q Living's Rough Sleeper Initiative, offering high support for tenancy sustainment. Lyron will talk about the challenges faced around non-engagement, rent arrears and move on, and the significant improvements seen through better support and new approaches to the staff recruitment process, team structure and method of collaborative working.
